Boîte, a journey through Time – Kostas Zembilas, Filippos Retsios, Kostas Gedikis

“For me, the Boîte defines an era of small chairs and large audiences. A car headlight on the stage, no embellishment, the naked truth. The Boîte was the naked truth of our music”.
With these words, the one and only Marisa Koch defined the Boîtes .
These musical spaces, as small as a “box” (boîtes de nuit), with a piano, a guitar and a voice on a tiny stage placed at arm’s length from the audience, managed to contain the greatness of good Greek music.
Such a space, Εstia, small but human, revives the atmosphere of the Boîtes, inviting the artist to become one with the audience.
This is what it’s all about the tonight’s music meeting, an evening of the rebirth of the Boîte, a journey through time with Kostas Zembilas, Filippos Retsios and Kostas Gedikis as guides.
