“Christmas of the World” – Music Night
December 24 @ 21:00 - 23:00
On the evening of Christmas Eve, Leda Filippopoulou and Konstantinos Arnis will share with us melodies and songs from around the world.
We invite you on a pilgrimage from Greece and the Middle East to Medieval and Renaissance Europe and back to the present day, a journey through the enchanting, indestructible Christmas melodies that accompany this glorious holiday.
From the well-known (and not so well-known) traditional carols of Greece and Europe, and songs about Virgin Mary, the Unborn Child and the Star of Bethlehem, to the melodies the Three Wise Men would have heard on their journey to Bethlehem, played in a unique way that combines traditional and modern musical instruments.
Performers:
Leda Filippopoulou – Song, Sazi, Flutes, Percussion
Konstantinos Arnis – Sazi, Nay, Uti, Guitar, Percussion.
Marina Mogli – Accordion, Percussion
