Christos Gianakopoulos

Ceramist, Head of the Artistic Department, Trainer

Born in Volos in 1978. I studied ceramics at the Applied Arts School of the Municipality of Volos in 1999-2001 and have been professionally active since 2003. My main theme has been ships, inspired mainly by Greek traditional shipbuilding and beyond.

My work has been presented in 10 professional ceramics exhibitions, and from the stores where they were sold, they traveled and still travel all over the world. Since 2011, I have been exploring the world of glass and other materials, applying them mainly to utilitarian objects, in an alchemical way… I have participated in 3 ceramic symposiums and 7 art exhibitions.

From 2012 to today, I have been teaching ceramics in collaboration with cultural institutions, public bodies, stores, and clubs for children, adults, and people with disabilities, as well as in educational or penitentiary institutions, museums, outdoor spaces, and even in ecclesiastical spaces.

Apart from ceramics, I have been involved as an amateur in theater, spelunking, photography, etc. From 2020 to the end of 2023, I taught ceramics at a children’s creative employment center of the Municipality of Volos, while at the same time, I am active in my professional workshop.

Antigoni Tsirogianni

Weaver, Trainer

I live and work as a weaver in Pelion. The images of my place, with its rich tradition, led me to start my own path in textiles, where the loom became a tool of artistic expression and creation in my hands. I am a graduate of the state school K.E.N.E. with a 3-year study, with a diploma in weaving and with distinction A’ Award. My teaching career began in 1987 at K.E.G.E. as a weaving trainer in weaving seminars under the supervision of the EOMMEX.

Then in 1999, I was appointed to the workshops of the Municipality of Volos in the children’s department with special needs as a weaving trainer for several years. There, the children, through the construction of works, developed skills, artistic creation, and participated in exhibitions throughout Greece.

A workshop that evolved and ended up consisting of 10 looms and 15 children was productive with sales in a local point of the city, to individuals, and professionals. In early 2021, I started my own workshop in my own space with 3 looms producing traditional and utilitarian objects. In August 2022, I presented my works to the public in my first solo exhibition, marrying the traditional with the modern.

The Victoria Karelia Museum in Kalamaria honored me by including my woven works in their shop. Through my love for this ancient art, my goal is to spread and maintain it in the new generations, feeling the duty to preserve Greek art and culture in every way.

Angeliki Vogdanou

Secretary of IMC, Responsible for Promotion & Visibility

Following my passion for the last 10 years working in Tourism, every new day I feel even more certain that this is not just a job, but rather a gift we offer to our visitors: memories and emotions. As a certified Mentor of Early Warning Systems for Hospitality Enterprises and with work experience in all sectors of Tourism (hospitality, catering, activities), I deal with Mentoring, Consultancy – Strategy, and the Organization of Internal Operations of Small & Medium Hospitality Enterprises.

As I never stopping learning and training, I aim to create unique experiences by connecting the special preferences and needs of visitors with the uniqueness of our place. Knowing Thessaly well and especially the mountain of Pelion, I guide my guests to authentic gastronomy, to quiet traditional villages, to beaches hidden by the green, and to forests of chestnut and oak trees.

But mainly I lead my guests to the stories of the people of my place. Because there lies the true beauty.
